Check this out....Our First Scan

We had our first scan on the 14th Aug when I was about 17 weeks.

The baby is lying on its stomach, so the head is on the left and the body is on the right.

We have another one in a few weeks time which should hopefully be a bit clearer.

The actual scan was really cool though. We could see the heart beating and see the baby waving its arms around.

The 1st four months....ish

Ok, so we found out about 3 days before going to America in May, and obviously we were both quite shocked, but also excited.

I then had to sit through a 12 hour plane journey, there and back. Going wasn't too bad, and the only difference it made to our holiday was that I couldn't go to magic mountain and ride rollercoasters!. The journey back however was horrendous as we got delayed for 3 hours extra and my morning sickness decided to really kick in. I was sick on the plane.... twice and again once we landed, I however decided to do it in spectacular style and projectile vomit over anyone standing near me in passport control. At least it got us to the front of the queue pretty quickly though!.

Apart from that, my morning sickness was pretty bad for the first few months. However, I don't know why they call it morning sickness, as it has a habit of coming on at any time during the day or night, so apart from going to work, I didn't really leave the house much for the first few months, and I found myself going to bed really early every night too.

Luckily we seem to be over that now and the last month has been a bit better.

Our saturdays are now spent traipsing in and out of baby shops, though we don't want to buy too much because we will have no room to store it until we move. Mark is enjoying test driving prams and going through the specifications to decide which ones are the best. We are amassing quite a collection of baby stuff (mainly clothes) and will probably buy the bigger stuff in a few months time.

By the way, if you are ever pregnant, buy this book:

Mark and I have been doing our research :-)

Ok, so as you may or may not have been aware, my behaviour and mark's too has become a little strange over the last few months, we've got engaged, suddenly decided to move, not let people smoke in the house and most strange of all, Mark has given up smoking! (He's not had a cigarette for 5 weeks now! and is doing really well).

Also, as you may or may not know, there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for all the strange behaviour.

We are getting one of these:

Well, obviously we have to wait for it to grow and everything first, but come late January, I am pleased to announce that Mark and I will become parents for the very first time.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, as is adding your name to the babysitting rota.

The baby is due somewhere between the 21st and 26th of January (we keep getting given different dates) and luckily, there's only one in there!

Also, in true Posh and Becks fashion, we have nicknamed the baby "Tennyson" after where we live. I want to keep it after the birth, but Mark says I can't (the name that is, not the baby)
